Day 1: Overnight Flight

Today board your overnight flight to Europe

Day 2: Arrive in Geneva Switzerland – Yverdon-Les-Bains

Upon arrival in Geneva, Switzerland meet your Premier World Discovery Tour Director and enjoy a Geneva City Tour to see the Jet d’Eau (400 ft. high waterspout), the famous Flower Clock and the United Nations Building. Later transfer to your hotel in the resort town of Yverdon-les-Bains and check in for a 4-night stay. Yverdon is located in the heart of a natural setting formed by the Jura Mountains and Lake Neuchâtel, and is well known for its thermal springs and tourism. This evening enjoy a Welcome Dinner.

Day 3: Chamonix – Chateau de Chillon – Swiss Wine Tasting

Today begins with a visit to France and to the ski resort of Chamonix, home of the first Winter Olympics in 1924 and situated at the foot of Mont-Blanc, the highest peak in Europe. Later travel to Montreux and tour of the 12th century Chateau de Chillon, a fascinating castle on Lake Geneva made famous by Byron’s epic poem, “The Prisoner of Chillon.” Later drive along the “Corniche” – a steep and narrow road through vineyard villages to experience a Swiss Wine Tasting. In these villages, the “Lavaux” wine growers live and press their own grapes. Visit a local wine cellar to sample & taste the wines of the region. Later return to your hotel and enjoy the evening at leisure.

Day 4: Zermatt

Today travel to explore Zermatt, situated at the foot of the majestic Matterhorn, one of the world’s most famous mountain peaks. First arrive in Tasch and board a train for the short ride to the famous carfree Alpine resort of Zermatt. Enjoy a Zermatt Walking Tour to see the splendors of this quaint village. Enjoy time at leisure to explore Zermatt on your own. Perhaps peruse the luxury boutiques and shops or enjoy a meal in a ski lodge. Maybe ride up the Cogwheel Railway to the Gornergrat (weather permitting-10,130 ft.) offering incredible views of the Matterhorn and 29 of the highest peaks in Europe. Zermatt is truly a unique Alpine experience! Later return to Yverdon-les-Bains.

Day 5: Golden Pass Train – GSTAAD – Gruyeres

This morning travel and board the Golden Pass Train, one of Switzerland’s most scenic rail excursions. Sit back, relax and enjoy the panoramic mountain scenery en route to the small resort village of Gstaad. Later board your motorcoach and travel to Gruyeres, a charming hilltop town famous for its 12th century castle. Gruyeres is an unspoiled, car-free medieval village with lovely houses along cobblestone streets. Next visit a Swiss Cheese Dairy to see cheese being made and taste the finished product. Later enjoy dinner with your fellow travelers.

Day 6: Bern – Interlaken – Lucerne

Today visit Bern, the beautiful capital city of Switzerland featuring cobblestone streets under medieval arches making it one of Europe’s most picturesque cities & registered as a UNESCO historic site. Enjoy a Bern City Tour to see the famous Bear Pits, the House of Parliament, the Rose Garden and the impressive Cathedral. Later visit Interlaken, a charming town situated between Brienz & Thun Lakes and surrounded by incredible mountain scenery. Enjoy time at leisure to explore this beautiful town. Then travel to the great city of Lucerne for a 3-night stay. Enjoy the evening at leisure in this magical city.

Day 7: Lucerne Sightseeing

This morning enjoy a walking Lucerne City Tour. Lucerne is situated in the geographical heart of Switzerland and poetically described by Alexandre Dumas as “a pearl in the world’s most beautiful oyster”. Walk along the shores of beautiful Lake Lucerne, cross the famous wooden Chapel Bridge, see the Lion Monument and much more. Enjoy the rest of the day to explore on your own.

Day 8: Lucerne – Day at Leisure

Today enjoy a full day at leisure in Lucerne. Maybe visit some of the luxury shops, test a Swiss watch, explore a nearby mountain, walk along the lake or relax at a cafe. An optional tour will be available. Tonight join your fellow travelers for a Farewell Dinner at a popular local restaurant.

Day 9: Lucerne – Zurich – Flight Home

Transfer to the Zurich Airport for your flight home filled with wonderful memories of your Scenic Switzerland Tour.
